I took a walk to the the post office today to try to decifer the numbers on a certified receipt. Simple thing, I needed to find out, of my three items that I sent by certified mail, the order in which they were sent. As I walked up the ramp and through the door, a woman came around the corner with a child in one arm and a box in the other. I went back out and waited to hold the door for her. I then went and held the second door for her. Now, what do think happened. There was no line and one clerk. I went to go around her to the counter because, technically I was first. But technically I must of been wrong. She went right to the counter to discuss the weight and shipping options for her package. After five minutes and many thoughts of saying something nasty, I just shut up and waited my out of turn, turn.
Now tne nice part. The clerk couldn't give me an answer, but she got her manager to come out. She took my paper work and went in the back to look the numbers up on the computer. It took a few minutes but she returned with my answers. It sounds trivial, but she took time out to do something she didn't have to do.
And the woman and her child. Are some people that cold that they can just ignore others and their good gestures.
